2017 SIAS Registration

The Summer Institute for Academic Success, Sunday, August 27 - Friday, September 1, 2017
The Summer Institute for Academic Success (SIAS) is a free jump-start program for incoming students who are either students of color, and/or first-generation, and/or multilingual, designed to introduce students to the resources on campus and help them get to know the Gustavus community. There is no cost to participate in this program.

Here is additional information about SIAS to help you decide if you would like to register:

• Participate in a week full of academic activities to help prepare you for the classroom and social activities that will help you make new friends.
• Learn about the various campus resources to support your academic journey.
• Meet other first year multicultural, multilingual, and/or first generation students and build friendships.
• Receive support and guidance from previous SIAS participants who understand the challenges you may encounter, and who can serve as a mentor to you throughout your first year.
• Receive early preparation techniques to help prepare you for the rigors of college life.
• Interact with College faculty (professors), staff, and administrators who are eager to support you while at Gustavus and help you be successful.
• Explore academic buildings, administrative offices, and residential halls before everyone arrives to campus.
• Move into your residence hall early!
